I'd like to say that people who flame someone's website are intolerable.
I found what Al said humorous and true. After all, I live in an apartment complex, I can't go a week without another pair of Jehovah's Witnesses asking me about Jesus and Moses and radda radda.
Regardless. People like this Melissa lass irritate me. If you don't like what you're seeing or reading on the internet, then close the window and go back to talking about your chihuahua's new pink sweater on Twitter.
Seriously.

Hi Man,
I am just human, forced to stay on earth x days and go as I was before I born. I apologize I can not be smarter than you to believe that all this so wonderful world aroud us came by itself and there no supreme power controlling what we see and what we don't see "at present". Man, you're a programmer like me, open your eyes and use your logic instead to play with words. Before 100 years what you were? and after 100 years what you'll be? Visit NASA website and discover what we represent among creatures.
Read, watch, lesson man and stop to be stupid.

I'm not religious or anything but I think all five ways to say, "Go to Hell," are all fucking gay... no offense, but you're not clever.

This is funny, and I hav to say that I see this every day. I not am closed off to the idea of a god, but still i cannot feel that there can possibly be one. Also there was indeed religion used to control the masses i suspect; the caste system in hinduism for example: what better way to keep people in their places than to tell them that the only way to be reincarnated in a higher place in life is to try to be unfailingly loyal and the best in the caste you are in now. what better way to keep personal ambition and maybe even rebelion of the people in check? Excuse my english if it is not good.. (i think it is pretty good, no? ha)

It's true, fear is used, and reasons are not valued as much as straight-up faith: "blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe."

However..i don't necessarily agree that the quote you chose is all bad. If we as people cannot agree there is a god, maybe we can still take from each other what can help us in the problems of life that are human. It may sound like a stretch, but zobac: watch: it is perhaps good advise to fear more a person that not only can take your physical body from you, but can also ruin your inner self; somebody that has reached your mind or your heart in a way that gives them silent control over your life, who takes your pride and self-respect. Ex.abusive husbands/parents/wives/boyfriends, ex.brainwashers. ex.rapists. etc.
Perhaps it isbetter to die free than to live a life of silent misery.

Please, do not feel like that. If somebody tries to force you to believe in something, just ignore him. But that's only the behavior of a few people (that maybe get noticed and they seem to be more). Not everyone who believes in a religion uses fear.
Just look for the truth and live in peace with the others.
I can't wait for your next video!

This quote is excellent:
"Fear is incredibly useful tool for persuading others to your views. It’s really convincing to tell a population of people that there is an imminent danger that is going to personally affect them, and that you alone have the cure they need. They might suspect you’re full of crap, but can they really take that chance?"

This describes the Global Warming mentality to a tee. Also two-party politics (I'd like to experience more party politics to see if it scales ;-)) -- the other side is pure evil (or closet nazis etc...) and will do bad things X, Y, and Z. Funny that regardless of whether people believe in God, people still have a concept of sin and evil, even if they use other words for it.

Fear-mongering is a horrible but terribly effective way to short-circuit the rational thought process :-( Unfortunately, it seems like the only way to undo it is one conversation at a time -- although perhaps well done media can be more effective, but my observations is that it mostly attracts people who leaned in that persuasion anyways.

Hey.. Stumbled on to your site and find it rather interesting –
Just some food for thought after seeing this video, fear has been a dominant reason to follow most religions including Islam and Hinduism. What’s really interesting is if for a minute hypothetically we agree that god made us, our creator.. Then god should be our dad/mom (subject to one’s religion) so should we then fear god as a parent of love him/her? I guess that’s one of the reasons why most hard core fundamentalists’ fear there parents! At least in all the discussions I have had with a number of them, they all seem to talk about fear, respect and duty but no mention of love.

Also in one of the studies I have learnt that Jesus teaches everyone to forgive as his main lesson. They why is it that GOD wont forgive us? After all god “created” us!
